The presidency of looting and devastation

By Thabo Sebe

Since Jacob Zuma took over the Presidency, our country is doomed. we are going nowhere slowly as a rainbow nation.

·         Unemployment is in now reaching boiling points,

·         Our tax is enriching the president and politicians who are his yes man,

·         Credit ratings have just been downgraded,

·         Nepotism is rife in government,

·         Children’s rights to education have been violated with the shortage of books,

·         The workforce is frustrated and the communities are up in arms,

·         The economy is shrinking.

·         Government departments are partying a storm instead of improving people’s lives.

I think our president should write a biography after his term ends (Titled: How not to govern), before the SACP implements the law that wishes to protect the President who is busy destroying our country and silencing the masses, like the protection of information bill that seeks to silence the media and whistle blowers alike.

I hope ANC branches will elect someone who is credible, educated and who is not just a populist who just dances to every tune and when he is supposed to take our nation to the promised land, He just dumps us/them like hot potatoes only to resurface when elections are just around the corner and only feed us lies and propaganda about how government programmes are changing the lives of ordinary citizens, when only him and his cronies are the beneficiaries of those programmes intended for ordinary citizens.

If I were him, I would just do the honourable thing and resign to save our country from this mess and also save his reputation if he still has any.

The President and his ministers are feeding us lies everyday so that they can continue to get paid for doing nothing or give themselves and their cronies’ tenders whereby they know that nothing will be done, but they will pocket millions for consultations and so forth.

Since the Zuma’s faction took over, our government has spent a lot of money but you can’t point anything that they have done with that money, development is only taking place in Nkandla where they are turning a rural area into South Africa’s own Hollywood.

My 2cents inspection is that they rushed Thabo Mbeki out of the presidency so that they can loot our coffers and destroy our beautiful nation, even though he was doing well. Most of his projects and programmes were changing people’s lives for the better.

If South Africa is to prosper again and be the beacon of Africa and the rest of the world, ANC branches must be the ones who bring that much needed change in our country by electing real leaders not cheer leaders before we become another failed state of Africa.

If President Zuma was a true leader as some in the corridors of ANC always say, he would have known and practised these below mentioned truths about leadership.

·         Leaders Care but Never Compromise

·         Leaders Know the Value of Good People

·         Leaders Inspire Rather than Motivate

·         Leaders Provide Support

·         Leaders Set Specific Expectations

·         Leaders Create Leaders, Not Followers

·         Leaders Provide Honest Feedback

·         Leaders Breed Trust

·         Leaders Foster Commitment

·         Leaders Stimulate Loyalty

Effective leaders understand the need for discipline and focus on those behaviours that drive results, rather than focusing only on the results. If the president had mastered these actions he would have achieved the results, but unfortunately he has failed the country and the very same ANC that is dancing to his tune and I think it is better if he relinquishes his position sooner rather than later.
